The HotheadsA combination of an enigmatic chameleon and perhaps, Menudo, The Hotheads was an ever-changing band
with no less than five different lead vocalists, several guitarists and a few bassists over a five year period.
Between 1994 and 1999, five albums were produced, each with a different mood and style to the music,
with the drummer (who started the band) as the only constant throughout.
Described as a little rock, a little blues, a little soul, a little funk, a little reggae, a little hip-hop, a little motown, a little pop,
the band is everything but defineable. The Hotheads website was redesigned many times: with each new album,
with the new band members that came along and with the accompanying new sound that followed.
The website was created entirely in barebones HTML with CGI scripting for the guestbook.
Music clips were added in Real Audio aiff and wav formats. The original Hotheads logo was enhanced with Photoshop, and eventually included a speaker.
In addition to the work on the website, flyers, stickers, business cards, press releases and a mailing list
was created to promote the group to its target audience.
One of the challenges at the time was having to explain exactly what "the internet" was, while selling banner advertisements.
